LOFOTEN ART NIGHTS?

LOFOTEN ART NIGHTS are a guided Northern Lights painting experience where you create your own artwork to take home: a personal souvenir from the Lofoten Islands.

And the best part? You’ll paint what you might see with your own eyes later that same evening - the aurora dancing across the winter sky.

You don’t need any painting experience. I’ll guide you step by step, in a relaxed, unhurried way.
And to keep it truly cosy: wine, coffee, and antipasti are part of the experience, too.

Location 

During winter, it will already be dark when we finish.
This gives you the perfect opportunity to continue your evening outside and, with a bit of luck, experience the Northern Lights on your own after painting them the workshop.

Enjoy LOFOTEN ART NIGHTS in Hamnøy at Eliassen Rorbuer - one of the most iconic places in the Lofoten Islands, surrounded by Arctic mountains and sea.

Your Host

My name is Selina Baumer. I’m an Artist and Life Coach from Switzerland.

In summer 2025, I moved to the Lofoten Islands and fell in love instantly with the wild nature, the light, and the intensity of this place.

Art has always been my way of processing experiences and emotions.
Coaching taught me how important safe, relaxed spaces are for creativity to unfold.

With LOFOTEN ART NIGHTS, I create a moment where you can slow down, create something with your own hands, and leave with an artwork that carries a piece of your journey through the Lofoten Islands.

FAQs

Children from 12 years and older can join LOFOTEN ART NIGHTS as regular participants for the regular price.

If you’re thinking about bringing younger children, please consider whether you can still enjoy the afternoon while keeping an eye on them.

We can always find something to paint for them.

The price for children under 12 years is 600 NOK (to cover the painting material).

Please contact me, so we can plan it properly.

No experience needed at all.

The workshop is guided step by step, and the focus is on enjoying the process – not on being “good” at art.

You’ll create your own Northern Lights painting on a canvas panel (30 × 40 cm).

Your finished artwork is yours to take home as a special souvenir from the Lofoten Islands.

The workshop lasts approximately 3 hours and starts at 2:00 PM.

The LOFOTEN ART NIGHTS are held in English and/or German.

French is possible upon request – please contact me in advance.

To keep the atmosphere cosy and personal, the group size is limited to max. 15 participants.

Private groups or larger groups are possible on request.

Yes, free parking is available on site at Eliassen Rorbuer in Hamnøy.

Yes. If you have a preferred date and enough participants, I’m happy to organise a private Art Night for you.
